Breaking: Shooting In Austin, Texas

The mainstream media was quite busy this week, reporting on the shooting that took place in Texas in a Baptist church, where a man shot down 26 people. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only incident that took place in Texas for the weekend.

Via Our Conservative:

The Gateway Pundit reported that illegal alien Rolando Martinez was arrested on Saturday night after he went on a late night shooting spree with an assault rifle on an 18 mile stretch of Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas. He claimed that he was drunk when he opened fire on passing drivers, hitting a 7 year-old girl in the head and leaving her in critical condition. Three other people were injured as well.

Martinez, 25, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a 2nd-degree felony. Police say that the shooting began at around 2 a.m. Saturday and ended around 3:15 a.m. Calls to police came in from multiple places along I-35, stretching from south Austin at Stassney Lane up to Wells Branch Parkway.

“We have a lot of crime scenes. We have several people that were injured in this,” said Austin Police Assistant Chief Joseph Chacon on Saturday.

Upon his arrest, Martinez said that he had been been drinking at the Nocturno Nightclub and that he did not remember most of the night. However, he did remember waking up in a grassy median near the freeway.

Martinez’s bond has been set at $1 million and he currently has an Immigration and Naturalization Service detainer on him.

This came hours before 26 people were killed in a Texas church shooting. That gunman has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, a 26 year-old former Bible study teacher who was dishonorably discharged from the US Air Force for assaulting his wife and child. Dressed in black tactical gear, he opened fire with an assault rifle at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs.

Kelley ended up killing himself after a concealed carrier returned fire on him and chased him out of the church. Were it not for that concealed carrier, this shooting likely would have been much worse.

This is yet another set of devastating news we’ve been hit in recent times, given that we’ve still not recovered from the Las Vegas massacre that took place last month. These are truly difficult times for the U.S., and it’s such a shame that the only thing Democrats are thinking about is how to use these horrific incidents and try to politicize them.
